If you’re ever in the mood to hear about someone’s drama, “Those Two Depressed Girls” is the show for you. On KAOR 91.1FM, Madison Fairley and Emma Richardson host a show all about news, life, and their personal drama (omitting actual names of course). They give advice and talk about tv shows such as The Bachelor. They started this show last year, and each “episode” starts off with a song and then goes into The Bachelor, drama, and lastly giving advice. For these close friends, their mission for this show is to have fun.
Unlike most of the hosts I have spoken with, Madison has different majors. Madison is a Sophomore majoring in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching. She likes freedom which may be why she wants to travel in the future. She would also like to be a teacher and a coach after graduation. Her biggest inspiration is her father because he is like a best friend to her. She believes that everything happens for a reason. She likes to listen to Emma Chamberlain’s podcast as well as country music and Drake. Sometimes she likes to listen to sad songs because of how relatable they are.
Emma is a Junior majoring in Media and Journalism with a minors in Women’s Studies and Social Media Marketing. This show has made it possible for her to be comfortable using her own voice. She looks up to her sister because she has gone down many career paths and has a go-getter attitude. This relates to what she wants to do in the future. Emma’s dream is to write a book, have a podcast, and live in New York, but she thinks this is not realistic and plans to go into marketing as a backup although her first plan would bring her more fulfillment. She listens to Taylor Swift as well as other podcasts such as the "Giggly Squad".
